Relive America In The '50s
Go to a drive-in with your sweetie

This particular activity is probably a thing of the past by now.  But when I was a boy, even up until I was in my teens, drive-in movie theaters were still a common sight.  While I was in high school, I did do this with a "sweetie" or two - or, at least, potential sweeties, but if there were particularly good movies I wanted to see, and there was no one who could go with me, I would just go alone... as I did one Friday evening at age 16 when there was a marathon of the so-called "spaghetti westerns" playing - in this case, the ones that launched the career of Clint Eastwood.  These are the movies I saw, starting at around 9pm and finishing at 4am...

  • The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly
  • Fistful of Dollars
  • For a Few Dollars More
  • High Plains Drifter
