Beautiful Dubrovnik
Wonderful Old-town

I had no idea what to expect as I headed for Croatia. Little did I know I would find what has turned out to be probably the best preserved (or, rather, restored) Old Town I've seen so far in my travels.
View of "Old Town"
(just ignore that modern-looking cruise ship)
The view from my place.
(but there's a price for that view - see below)
Just a few of the 500(!!!) steps down to Old Town.
Of course, down is not nearly so hard as "back up".
One of the main pedestrian lanes of Old Town.
(notice the hordes of tourists?) :(
Many lanes are like this one - very narrow indeed.
Some restaurants set up tables in areas not much wider than this.
And let's not forget the convenient snacks to enjoy
while walking those pedestrian lanes.
Many European cities have fountains going 24/7 that spew
forth drinkable water. (seems wasteful, but very convenient)
In the harbor outside the city walls, there are boats...
